Chinaplas 2024 came to an end last week. This exhibition was large in scale, with many exhibitors and a large flow of visitors. The total number of visitors reached 321,879, of which overseas visitors accounted for 22.75%. Junhua Co., Ltd. also received many foreign customers and had friendly communications with them.

At this exhibition, Junhua showcased its newly developed medical implant-grade AKSOPEEK materials, PEK resins, and compression-molded PBI sheets and other featured products.

Part.01PEEK industry market is booming

As PEEK is increasingly used, my country has become the largest PEEK consumer market after Europe and the United States, and its growth rate far exceeds the global average. More and more companies are beginning to get involved in the PEEK industry. At Chinaplas 2024, the number of exhibitors displaying PEEK raw materials and profiles has increased significantly compared to 3-5 years ago.

This has also led to intensified competition in the PEEK industry, including competition in R&D technology, price and service. The current market price of PEEK is also very high and at a relatively low level, which is a severe challenge for every PEEK company.

However, enterprises in the upstream and downstream of the domestic PEEK industry chain are also constantly emerging. At the exhibition, more and more units are displaying extruders, injection molding machines, molds, testing instruments and other equipment specifically for producing PEEK products. Manufacturers of PEEK raw and auxiliary materials such as fluoroketone, hydroquinone, and carbon fiber are also coming in an endless stream. This shows that China’s PEEK industry chain is becoming increasingly perfect.

It is believed that with the increase of domestic fluoroketone production units, the localization of hydroquinone, the increase in the scale of single PEEK production units and the optimization of processes, the price of PEEK will still have room to fall in the future.

New energy vehicles, robot dogs, humanoid robots, batteries, low-altitude aircraft and other fields are booming, and these industries have a clear demand for PEEK, such as PEEK insulation layer of flat wire motors, continuous carbon fiber thermoplastic PEEK composites, PEEK filament braided films, PEEK gear sleeves, etc.

However, compared with foreign companies, my country’s large-scale production, research and application of PEEK materials have a relatively short time. In the application and development of PEEK, there are still problems such as late start, weak accumulation of innovative technologies, and relatively backward levels of core technologies and special equipment.

Through communication with demand units, these units are also very willing to cooperate in development on the premise of ensuring quality, to promote the penetration of Chinese PEEK materials into high-end fields, and to promote the development of niche PEEK materials in the direction of scale.

Future Development

01. Differentiated competition

Junhua has been constantly exploring the application of PEEK in mid-to-high-end fields such as aerospace, medical, semiconductors, analytical instruments, new energy vehicles, chemicals, low-altitude flight, humanoid robots, and e-cigarettes. It studies customer needs, allows more industries and units to know PEEK, understand PEEK, and use PEEK, increases the market size of the PEEK material industry, and promotes the healthy long-term development of the PEEK industry.

Last year, Junhua established JunDe HPP GMBH in Düsseldorf, North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany, set up offices and showrooms, and prepared warehouses. Through the layout, Junhua can reach customers in the target market more directly, respond to customer needs in a timely manner, and provide better services.
