In order to meet customers’ special needs for PEEK performance, the company’s R&D department has recently successfully developed a PEEK surface electroplating process. The process can be divided into: chemical plating and electroplating. Currently, the metal coatings that can be used for electroplating on the PEEK surface are: gold, silver, copper, nickel, and chromium.

Since PEEK high-performance special engineering plastics have good insulation properties, the surface resistance of PEEK can reach 103 ohms through the composite modification process, and the surface resistance of PEEK can reach tens of ohms through the PEEK surface coating process, which can better meet customers’ application needs for PEEK under harsh conditions. In particular, it can meet some special industry applications that require conductivity, dielectric strength, and signal shielding.

At present, the thickness of the electroplating coating on the surface of PEEK of our company can reach 0.03-0.013mm. The chemical plating coating on the surface of PEEK is uniform, with strong adhesion, conductivity up to 100%, and neutral salt spray test up to 12,000 hours.
