How to distinguish PEEK from TPU
TPU, also known as thermoplastic polyurethane elastomer rubber, is an elastomer that is plasticized by heating and dissolved by solvents. It has excellent wear resistance, excellent ozone resistance, high hardness, high strength, good elasticity, low temperature resistance, oil resistance, chemical resistance, and environmental resistance. It is widely used in the fields of footwear, cables, clothing, automobiles, medicine and health, pipes, films, sheets, etc. However, PEEK is different from TPU.
PEEK is a special engineering plastic called polyetheretherketone. PEEK has a series of excellent comprehensive properties such as high temperature resistance, wear resistance, corrosion resistance, and high strength. It has been successfully and widely used in aerospace, automotive, electronic semiconductor, electromechanical and other industries with high requirements. TPU is an elastomer between rubber and plastic. Its elastic modulus is higher than rubber and lower than PEEK. Compared with PEEK, TPU has lower hardness and better elasticity, and is suitable for cushioning and shock absorption. However, it is inferior to PEEK in many parameters such as temperature resistance, corrosion resistance, and aging resistance. PEEK and TPU are not better than each other, but just combined with the environment.
We have been focusing on the field of special plastics for many years, and can use a variety of molding processes such as extrusion molding, injection molding, machining molding and film molding. According to customer drawings or sample requirements, we develop and manufacture injection and molding molds, and customize PEEK parts and finished products of various specifications and wide applications.
