AKSOPEEK Medical implant grade materials

PEEK material has the characteristics of X-ray transparency, high strength, biocompatibility and an elastic modulus close to that of cortical bone. As a new type of orthopedic medical material, it stands out among many materials and has been widely used in medical fields such as trauma, spine and orthopedic surgery.

The world’s implantable-grade PEEK materials, equipment and manufacturing technologies are monopolized by British companies such as Invibio. The domestic self-sufficiency rate is low, and more than 80% relies on imports. It is under foreign monopoly. Domestic research and development has only begun in recent years. China is facing the dilemma of being “choked”.

In response to the profound challenges faced by my country in the interface structure and biomechanical design, key processing and manufacturing technologies, inspection and testing standards, and clinical application specifications of related implantable devices, five years ago, the company has jointly participated in the research and development of three types of medical implant-grade PEEK materials with scientific research institutes, testing units, medical institutions and other units, mainly to replace similar materials imported from abroad.

In 2021, the company launched the AKSOPEEK series of medical implant-grade materials. The product performance advantages are obvious, filling the domestic gap.
