Product Overview:
PPSU Polyphenylsulfone (PPSU) is an amorphous, high-performance thermoplastic that has better impact and chemical resistance than PSU and PEI.
After high-pressure steam sterilization failure testing, PPSU has been proven to have excellent hydrolysis resistance, surpassing other amorphous thermoplastics. In fact, PPSU can be placed in a steam sterilization environment for an unlimited number of times, and high-pressure steam is widely used to sterilize medical components, making PPSU a material of choice for medical devices. In addition, it can resist corrosion from common acids and bases – including commercial cleaning agents – over a wide temperature range.
PPSU is available in natural (bone white), transparent and other common colors, and can also be customized. It is commonly used in sterilization trays, dental and surgical instrument handles, and fluid handling couplings and assembly applications. PPSU meets USP Class VI standards. Because it can withstand welding temperatures, it is suitable for use in electronic assembly equipment and devices. PPSU has a heat deflection temperature of 207°C.
